When parents asks for help from our lawyers after their child has been removed from their care by the DYP, or because a report was retained, we listen to them carefully. If we ourselves believe that the child would be safer with their parent, we then put our team of lawyers at their service to request the Court to remedy this situation.
Our team of youth protection lawyers regularly represents parents whose children have been removed without sufficient grounds. Our lawyers conduct incisive cross-examinations of DYP intervenors to reveal their poor understanding of the file when that’s the case. We don’t go to Court to make friends.
Our youth protection lawyers have defended families who had their babies removed shortly after their birth, families with young children, even parents of adolescents.
