Noushin Dewan is a family law lawyer. She obtained her LL.L and J.D from the University of Ottawa before being admitted to the Quebec Bar and the Ontario Bar. Being a member of two Canadian bars is a real asset for her clients because she has a global and holistic portrait of family litigation. She drafts divorce proceedings, pleads in court, and negotiates all relevant issues such as child access, child custody and alimony rights.
In addition, Noushin is perfectly bilingual English-French and also speaks Bengali, Hindi and Urdu. She can also read Arabic.
Although she has extensive experience in other legal fields such as international law and banking law, being a family lawyer has always been her childhood dream. As a research assistant, she studied the minimum standard of protection granted to foreign investors under customary international law. She also analyzed the notion of opinio juris in multilateral treaties. In addition, she is a volunteer in a Pro Bono project and has also volunteered at the McGill University Legal Information Clinic.
